Bright House Networks of Michigan to Open Bright Kids Network at Livonia Family YMCA on April 18
Company contributes $50,000 to New After-school Program

Livonia, Mich. - April 9, 2009

Bright House Networks of Michigan is proud to announce the opening of the new Bright Kids Network, a new five-year, comprehensive community outreach program to be housed at the Livonia Family YMCA. Company President Robert McCann made the announcement.

Because of a $50,000 grant provided, Bright Kids Network will officially open to the public on Saturday, April 18th at 1:00 p.m. as part of the Livonia Family YMCA's Healthy Kids Day. The network will provide after-school and summer learning programs, scholarships for community youths, along with additional funding for new program development and awareness. The room will also be wired with complimentary BHN digital cable and high-speed Internet.

"Our goal with the Bright Kids program is to provide the children of our community with access to vital after-school learning programs," said McCann. "We felt it was important to invest in our area's youth who are the future and our employees are excited about making a difference in the lives of the students of Livonia schools throughout Bright Kids Network initiative."

Bright House Networks selected the Livonia Family YMCA because of the organization's exceptional track record as an after-school provider. In meeting the challenges of the last 150 years, the YMCA has upheld its mission of building a healthy spirit, mind and body and now serves men, women, children, families and seniors.

"The Livonia Family YMCA has always offered a safe place for kids to learn and grow," said Laura Perlowski, Executive Director, Livonia Family YMCA. "Corporate support, like that of Bright House Networks, is crucial to us for providing our area youth a safe and productive environment after school. We are thrilled to be the recipients of this generous commitment and look forward to working closely with Bright House Networks and its staff."

Twelve computers have also been donated by Bright House Networks to the Livonia Family YMCA, the Farmington YMCA and to Farmington Youth Assistance in support of their after school programs.
