Bright House Networks of Michigan expands High Definition and Movie Channels

Livonia, Mich. - April 30, 2009

Bright House Networks announced today, effective immediately, subscribers will have access to additional FREE HD programming.

Customers will have access to the following channels all in high definition:

  • Speed Channel, Travel Channel and The Weather Channel
  • MLB HD which launched on April 1
  • Starz HD with a paid subscription to Starz, as well as Starz on Demand
  • Smithsonian HD which will be added to the to the HDTV Pack at the end of May

"We know HD programming is important to our customers and we are pleased to be able to offer hundreds of hours of high definition programming at no additional cost," said Robert McCann, President of Bright House Networks of Michigan.

HD customers can enjoy Speed HD on channel 215, Travel HD on channel 228, the Weather Channel on 223, MLB HD on channel 263 , and Starz HD on channel 213. The channel location for Smithsonian HD has yet to be determined.

Bright House Networks of Michigan is also bringing new channels to the Movie Lovers Pack -- Retroplex and Indieplex. Retroplex (channel 407) shows iconic movies that defined an era from the 60's to the 80's. On Indieplex (channel 408) you can catch unconventional movies that broke the mold. These two channels will launch on May 1st.
