What is DTV and why is this change happening? DTV is a new type of broadcasting technology that changes the way people watch TV, with dramatically better picture and sound quality than the older analog technology. DTV also serves an important public function - freeing up valuable airwaves space for first responders like police and fire departments. The DTV transition takes place between February 17, 2009 and June 12, 2009, as required by the Federal Communications Commission.
What do you need to know about DTV? We're making the digital TV transition easy for our customers. As long as you're a Bright House Networks customer and all of your household's televisions are plugged into our cable lines, you are ready for the transition to digital television, or DTV, in June 2009.
